This Friday take a drive out to Waldoboro to the new pop-up gallery on Route 32, Brick House. The gallery will host Jean Kigel’s annual ‘Eastern Views” show.
This year, in addition to her much loved watercolors and Asian brush paintings, she will have small one-a-day oils on panel.
Jean has been creating wonderful works of art for many years, her paintings are sought after by collectors throughout the country. I love seeing where her thought process has taken her from year to year.
I especially love Jean’s gyotaku fish prints on Japanese paper that will also be available. The show will take place at The Brick House Gallery, 172 Winslow Mills Rd, Waldoboro, August 8-10, 10am-5pm. On Friday August 8th, from 5-7, stop in for engaging conversation and light refreshments.
From Waldoboro take a leisurely drive along the coast to Camden for an informal gathering with the artists that participated in Camden Plein Air 2014. Check out Camden Falls Gallery for a description of last years event.
The gathering will take place from 5-7, August 8th. I don’t know about you but I plan to check out Seabright Pizza afterwards. The word on the street is that it is fabulous! I am on a search for my favorite pizza in the Midcoast area. Maybe even a little soft serve ice cream at River Ducks too!
